Praying God’s Word

God’s Word is God’s Will

Effective prayer is based on asking and praying God’s will.  See How to Pray Effectively.  When we know what God’s Word says about a situation we know His will. God tells us in His Word to put Him in remembrance of His Word (Isaiah 43:26), this is done through prayer.  Our prayers should be spoken not silent.  Silent prayer is okay if you want a private conversation with God and others are around, however if you want to activate God’s Word on your behalf it must be spoken.   God created us in Him image according to Genesis 1:27 and God created the world by His Words (Genesis chapter 1).  All through God’s Word He shares the importance of our Words. Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those that love it will eat its fruit.  Matthew 12:37 For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned. There are many other scriptures that share with us the power and importance of the spoken word.  So when we take God’s Word and speak it back to Him we are coming into agreement with Him.  His Word says in the mouth of two or three witnesses let every word be established.  God spoke it first and we speak it back to Him to establish it (Matthew 18:16 and 2 Corinthians 13:1).  Faith activates God’s Word in our life.  Everything we receive from God must by faith.  Faith in what? Faith in God’s Word.  Faith is when it has worked its way from head knowledge to heart knowledge.  Knowing in your heart it is true, trusting God at His Word. 1 John 5:14-15 (NKJV) 14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.

Activate God’s Word through daily prayer, for yourself and those you love.  Below are five prayers right from God’s Word that can change your life.  These have been personalized for you.  Psalm Ninety One is an important prayer that speaks of God’s protection.  Claim His protection today and every day.  Ephesians prayers speak of wisdom, guidance and strength from God.  Colossians speaks of knowing God’s will and Philippians speaks of our approving what is excellent and keeping us from offense.

PSALMS NINETY ONE (personalized)

I dwell in the secret place of the Most High. I abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I say of you Lord, You are my refuge and my fortress My God; in whom I trust. Surely You deliver me from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. You cover me with Your feathers, and under Your wings shall I trust; Your truth shall be my shield and buckler. I shall not be afraid for the terror by night Nor of the arrow that flies by day; Nor for the pestilence that walks in darkness; Nor for the destruction that lays waste at noonday. A thousand shall fall at my side, and ten thousand at my right hand; but it shall not come nigh me. Only with my eyes shall I behold and see the reward of the wicked.  Because I have made You my Lord, which is my refuge, even the Most High, my habitation; therefore no evil shall befall me, neither shall any plague come nigh my home. For You give Your angels charge over me to keep me to keep me in all my ways. They bare me up in their hands, lest I dash my foot against a stone. I tread upon the lion and adder: The young lion and dragon shall I trample under my feet. Because I have set my love upon the Lord; therefore You deliver me: You have seated me on high, because I know Your Name. I call upon Him, and You answer me. You are with me in trouble; You deliver me and honor me. With long life You satisfy me, And show me Your salvation.
